First Touch of Autumn
Right then, September's nearly over, and there's no mistaking it now - autumn's properly arrived. You can feel it in your bones when you step outside of a morning, that proper nip in the air that has you reaching for a fleece. The leaves are starting to turn, and there's that lovely golden light we get this time of year, the sort that makes even grotty industrial towns look a bit magical.
It's the kind of week where you'll want to get yourself outside while there's still warmth in the sun, because once October gets its claws in, we'll all be grumbling about putting the heating on. Perfect weather for a good walk, a decent pub lunch, and convincing yourself that conker collecting is a perfectly reasonable grown-up activity!

Pocketful of Autumn 🍁

Autumn Walks Across Yorkshire
There’s something about conker season that brings out the kid in all of us. Right now, horse chestnut trees across Yorkshire are dropping glossy brown beauties by the handful.
In the West, Calderdale’s Hardcastle Crags is glowing with autumn colour — reds and golds that stop you in your tracks. Over in the East, the grounds of Burton Constable Hall are a fine place to wander under horse chestnuts and ancient oaks. In the South, Sheffield’s Endcliffe Park is perfect for a conker hunt close to the city. And up North, Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Deer Park make for a magical autumn day out.
Gather a few conkers, crunch through the autumn leaves, and the beautiful Yorkshire colours of the season will make you forget what’s coming in February!
