From Heatwaves to Harvest Time

There's something in the air this week, that shift from summer's sprawl to autumn's edge. School bags are packed, work routines are settling, and across Yorkshire, there's a gentle exhale as we move from holiday mode to something more grounded.

The moors are still purple with heather, but the mornings carry a new chill. And crucially, there's rain in the forecast. After weeks of drought and moorland fires near Fylingdales, cooler, wetter weather feels like exactly what Yorkshire needs. Our landscapes have endured the dry spell; now they can drink deeply again.

Whether you're easing into term time or simply ready to explore September's slower pace, Yorkshire's got plenty to bring you back to the present.

Walk of the Week: Ingleton Waterfalls Trail

This scenic 4.5-mile circular trail takes you through peaceful woodland, along rocky gorges, and past a series of beautiful waterfalls. It’s a refreshing way to spend a few hours, and it all ends at a tea room that knows how to serve a proper Yorkshire brew.

Final Brew

“September whispers what August declared.”

As routines return, the invitation stays the same: step outside, notice what’s real, and let Yorkshire ground you in something more meaningful than the scroll.
